Terms

These are the terms for The Sixth Desk, a weekly email briefing published by Jon Kaye. They’re written to be read. Questions to desk@thesixthdesk.com.

The service

The Sixth Desk is a weekly editorial briefing delivered by email to paid members, with an online archive for members. There is no free tier. The first issue is published openly so prospective members can judge the work before paying.

Membership is annual. The price is the one shown when you join. Founding members pay a discounted first year and renew at the standard annual price shown at the time of renewal. Membership renews automatically until you cancel, which you can do at any time from your account; cancellation takes effect at the end of the year you've paid for.

The 30-day guarantee

If you decide within 30 days that the briefing isn't worth what you paid, email desk@thesixthdesk.com and I'll refund your payment in full. No forms, no questions. The 30 days run from your first issue or your payment date, whichever is later. For founding members who joined before launch, the 30 days run from the first issue on 11 September 2026, so until 11 October 2026.

Your use of the briefing

Issues are for your own use. Forward an item to a colleague who’d find it useful — we encourage that — but please don’t systematically redistribute issues, republish them, or use them to train or feed automated systems. The editorial content is © The Sixth Desk; quoted material remains the words of the people who said it, and we always link the original source.

What the briefing is — and isn’t

The Sixth Desk is editorial: translated, contextualised business thinking, selected with care. It is not financial, investment, legal or professional advice, and you shouldn’t treat it as a recommendation to do anything. We take accuracy seriously — our sourcing standards are described in every issue — but we can’t warrant that every claim a speaker makes is true, and where a statistic is unverified we say so.

Liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for losses arising from reliance on the briefing’s content. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Housekeeping

We may suspend or close accounts that abuse the service. We may update these terms; material changes will be flagged in an issue. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
